The CCAI Peer Group program is designed to provide a forum for small groups of custom coater owners & executives to exchange valuable information that can help improve your business and operational practices. By committing to regular meetings throughout the year (two or three), Peer Group members share best practices and experiences that help custom coater members elevate their business to the next level.
To join a Peer Group, a company must be a Custom Coater member of CCAI.
How the Program Works
Groups contain six to ten non‑competing companies, selected to avoid geographic competitors.
Each company may send up to two representatives to meetings: preferably senior managers with P&L responsibility.
Goyer Management International (GMI) staff manage logistics, content, group assignments, and facilitation.
Participants must sign a non‑disclosure agreement and follow our Anti‑Trust Statement.
It is our goal to also arrange social gatherings where all Peer Group members can meet one another at CCAI events.
Meetings & Host Expectations
Meetings are held at member facilities twice per year, each lasting 1.5 days and ending before lunch on day two.
Meetings include facility tours, operational audits, business discussions, sponsor presentations, and invited speakers.
Host responsibilities rotate among members. Hosts provide basic refreshments and help with local programming. With two meetings per year, expect to host roughly once every three to four years.
Cost & Sponsorship
Members cover their own travel, hotel, and related expenses.
CCAI seeks Corporate Members to sponsor arrival dinner, first-day lunch, and first-day dinner to cover costs. Sponsors may join the sponsored meal and give a 15-minute presentation after the first-day lunch. Hosts may suggest potential sponsors. Breakfast is on your own unless included in the room rate.
Participation Requirements & Commitments
Commit to two on-site meetings per year.
Be willing to openly share operational information with group members while keeping all shared information strictly confidential.
Attendance is critical; missing 50% of meetings over two years may lead to dismissal.
Group Formation & Selection
Groups form when at least six applications from non-competing companies are received.
Selection balances geographic separation, company size, employee count, coating types, and system types to create a productive mix.
What Peer Group Members Say:
"This has been the very best thing I’ve done for my business. This is where I come to work on my business, not in it."

"One of the biggest benefits is the opportunity to visit shops and participate in the audit. It was extremely valuable to exchange best practices with the group and to identify improvement opportunities that I plan to implement at my facility.
The collaboration, open discussions, and constructive feedback from peers were truly the most impactful takeaways for me."
"I find it interesting to see the different processing methods at other facilities. I’ve seen things I have never seen before."
"It’s nice to know that it doesn’t really matter what part of the country you are from, we all seem to have some of the same issues we are working through. It’s good to hear how others are handling these types of situations, and I believe
we can all help solve some of each other’s concerns. It is also very nice to form these new relationships with others from all over the country that we would otherwise not have."
